Stone House Art Gallery is pleased to present resERECTION, a solo exhibition of new works by Boston based artist Devon Clapp. Five oil paintings are accompanied by free standing sculptures that alternatively reflect the historic landscape eminent throughout Clapp’s work. These new works present an irreverent take on our formidable relationship to time and death through the posthumous lens of those briefly existing before us. In the present, these landscapes emulate the solstice of Puritan New England– where life was dictated by the seasons, and even in minimalist society, the cemetery was one of the very few places one could encounter art.
